Take Notes from Audiobooks By Tapping Your Headphones
Audiobooks are a great way to consume books. But unlike physical books or e-readers, there's no easy way to highlight passages or take notes while listening.
We've built an integration for the Libro.fm audiobook platform to bring audiobooks to Snipd. You can now take notes from audiobooks the same way you do with podcasts: tap your headphones, get AI transcripts and summaries, and sync everything to your favorite note-taking apps.

The Problem with Audiobook Notes
When you read a physical book, you can underline passages, scribble in margins, and dog-ear pages. Kindle lets you highlight text with a tap. But audiobooks? You're stuck trying to remember what you heard or pausing to type notes manually.
Most people just accept that audiobooks are for passive consumption. The insights you hear during a morning commute or workout disappear by the time you sit down to capture them.
How Snipd Solves This
Snipd is an AI-powered podcast player that turns your headphones into a capture tool. When you hear something worth remembering, triple-tap your headphones. That's it.
Snipd automatically:
- Captures the audio moment
- Generates a transcript of what was said
- Creates an AI summary of the key insight
- Saves everything for later review
The audio keeps playing. No interruption. No typing. Just a quick tap and you're back to listening.
The same hands-free capture that works for podcasts now works for audiobooks.
The Libro.fm Integration
Libro.fm is an audiobook platform similar to Audible, with one key difference: they believe you should own your audiobooks. When you buy from Libro.fm, you get DRM-free files you can listen to in any player. As a bonus, every purchase supports your local independent bookstore.
This makes the Snipd integration simple:
- Log into your Libro.fm account inside Snipd
- See all your purchased audiobooks
- Upload any book to Snipd with one tap
- Start listening and taking notes
Every audiobook you own on Libro.fm becomes available in Snipd. No file management, no workarounds, no third-party tools.
What You Can Do With Your Audiobooks on Snipd
Once your audiobook is in Snipd, all the AI features work just like they do with podcasts:
Save Key Insights While Listening
Tap your headphones whenever you hear something valuable. Each tap creates a "snip" with the transcript and an AI summary of that moment. You can also enable auto-snipping to let the AI capture key moments automatically while you listen.
Chat With Your Books
After listening, ask questions about the book. "What were the three main arguments?" or "What did the author say about habit formation?" The AI searches through the transcript and gives you answers with exact quotes.
Get Summaries
Generate summaries of the book. Useful for review or deciding whether a book is worth your time.
Sync to Your Note-Taking Apps
Automatically sync your audiobook highlights to Readwise, Notion, Obsidian, or manually export them to Logseq, Bear, or any other markdown-based app. Your audiobook notes live alongside your podcast highlights and reading notes.

Find Your Next Audiobook From Recommendations in Podcasts
One of my favourite new workflows that wasn't possible before: You're listening to a podcast and the guest recommends a book. You tap your headphones to save the moment.
Snipd automatically identifies the book through our Mentioned Books feature and shows you a link to buy it on Libro.fm. You purchase the book, it appears in Snipd, and you start listening with the same note-taking capabilities you use for podcasts.
The recommendation, your notes from the podcast episode, and your highlights from the audiobook are all connected.
Get Started
If you're new to Snipd, download the app and give it a try for free.
For audiobooks, you'll need to create a Libro.fm account. Once you have both, log into Libro.fm from within Snipd and upload your first audiobook. The next time you listen, tap your headphones when you hear something worth remembering.
