Redesigned Snips, AI Rewrites & Speaker Names

We've packed this update with AI improvements that make capturing and refining podcast insights easier than ever. From a completely redesigned snip experience to smarter transcripts with real speaker names, these changes are all about helping you capture exactly what matters—without the friction.
Here's what's new in this release.
New Snip Design
We've completely reimagined how snips work. Instead of separate "title" and "summary" fields, you now get a single, flexible text field—with no character limit.
The AI automatically fills it with a concise takeaway, usually two short bullet points that capture the essence of the moment. But here's the best part: you can edit it however you want. Add context, rewrite it in your own words, or expand it with your thoughts—all without arbitrary limits.
It's a simple change that makes snips feel more natural and flexible, adapting to however you prefer to capture ideas.
Rewrite Snip with AI
Sometimes the AI's first take isn't quite what you're looking for. Maybe you want more detail, a different focus, or a completely different angle on the content.
That's where the new "Rewrite" feature comes in. Just tap "Rewrite" and tell the AI what you want—more context, a focus on specific points, a different format, or anything else. The AI will regenerate the snip based on your instructions.
It's like having an AI assistant that takes direction, giving you the perfect snip without starting from scratch.
Snipping AI Upgrade
We've given our snipping AI a massive upgrade. The improvements touch everything—better understanding of context, more relevant takeaways, and smarter decisions about what's actually worth capturing.
You'll notice it most when snipping complex discussions or nuanced arguments. The AI now does a much better job of identifying the core insight and expressing it clearly.
Speaker Names in Transcript
Transcripts for newly processed episodes now include real speaker names instead of generic labels like "Speaker 1" and "Speaker 2."

This makes transcripts much easier to follow, especially in multi-guest episodes or panel discussions. The speaker names are also used when creating snips, so you'll know exactly who said what.
Better Guest Extraction
We've massively improved how we extract guest information from new episodes. The AI is now much better at identifying who's actually on the show versus who's just mentioned in passing.
Say goodbye to seeing random people listed as guests who were never actually on the podcast. The guest lists are now accurate and useful for discovering episodes by the people you want to hear from.
More Accurate Transcripts
Even our transcription AI got an upgrade—for all supported languages. The improvements are subtle but noticeable: better handling of technical terms, more accurate punctuation, and fewer transcription errors.
Whether you're reading along, searching for a specific quote, or using transcripts with the AI chat feature, you'll benefit from these quality improvements.
New Snips Library Design
Every episode for which you have at least one snip now has its own dedicated page in your snips library. The page shows the episode details, the guest, and all your snips from that episode in one place.
It's a cleaner, more organized way to review your notes and makes it easier to see all your insights from a particular conversation at a glance. And there's more coming to these pages in the near future.
Episode Discovery Feed
We've replaced the "For You" feed with a new episode discovery feed that surfaces the most-snipped episodes across the Snipd community.
Browse by trending episodes, top episodes from the last 30 days, or the most-snipped episodes of all time. It's a great way to discover what other curious listeners are finding valuable—though the feed isn't personalized yet, that's coming soon.
